Description
Redstones is a house that may have originally been part of a larger residence, including the adjacent Bluehaven. It dates back to the 17th century but has undergone significant alterations in the 20th century. The exterior is made of painted rubble with an asbestos slate roof.
The house has a two-room plan, with one room situated behind the other, and a staircase added laterally between the two rooms. The entrance is located to the left of the gable end front, leading directly into the front room. The gable end front features two storeys, with a 19th-century two-panelled door and a 20th-century metal-framed window on the right side at both the ground and first floors. The right side of the house has a 20th-century window at the ground floor and two at the first floor, while the left side has a narrow single light under the eaves.
Inside, the front room on the ground floor has ten cross beams of varied sections, some of which are rounded. There is a 20th-century fireplace on the side and a 20th-century staircase at the rear. At the first-floor landing, stick balusters and a 19th-century newel post remain.
