Description

This milestone, located at the north-east junction of the A390 and Frogwell Road, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of granite and has a rectangular shape with a tapered section and a rounded head. The lettering is incised and painted, indicating the distances to Callington and Launceston, specifically noting 1½ miles to Callington and 7 miles to Launceston. This milestone is associated with the Act for Turnpike roads leading into Callington, established in 1764.
