Description

Gooninnis Farmhouse is a farmhouse, likely originally built as a dwelling for farmworkers, dating from around the middle of the 19th century. The building is constructed of painted killas rubble with an asbestos slate roof and brick chimneys situated over the gable ends. It has cast-iron gutters with an ogee section. The original layout comprised two rooms, with a lobby and a probable staircase situated between them. A later 19th-century lean-to was added to the left side of the building. The exterior presents a near-symmetrical two-window frontage, with a central doorway. A later stone buttress is located on the right side. The original front door features raised panels, including two tall, round-arched sections. One original 12-pane hornless sash window remains on the first floor to the right, with the remaining windows being 20th-century replacements. The interior has not been inspected.
