Description
This is a barn located 10 meters southwest of Tremagenna Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a rag slate roof with hipped ends. The barn has a rectangular plan and originally had an entrance to the shippon at the front. The ground rises towards the rear, where there were once steps leading to the first floor, although these steps have now been removed. The building is two storeys tall and is situated close to Tremagenna Farmhouse. The entrance to the shippon is on the left side, with a ventilation slit to the right and a plank door above. Inside, the roof from the late 18th century has principals that are lapped and pegged at the apices, with collars that are lapped and either pegged or nailed onto the face of the principals. This barn is part of a group with Tremagenna Farmhouse.
