Description
Goscott Farmhouse is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, built around 1850, with a 17th-century range attached at the rear left. The exterior features unpainted slatestone rubble walling, with 18th-century elements including rusticated granite quoins and four rusticated granite quoined chimney stacks that rise from a steeply pitched slate roof, which is hipped on all sides. The building has a double depth plan and is symmetrical, with two storeys and five windows on the front, featuring a central granite quoined doorway. The quoins are chamfered, alternating between long and short styles. All windows, dating from around 1850, have plain granite lintels, jambs, and sills. The front windows have two panes per sash, while the rear windows have six panes per sash. There is a tall rectangular stair window at the rear and a small eight-pane casement to the left outshut. A cupola with an ogee lead-covered roof and a weather vane rises from the central part of the roof. The 17th-century range is whitewashed, made of rendered cob with a slate roof, and has a truncated lateral stack. The interior features 19th-century joinery, fireplaces, and a staircase.
