Description

Priske Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around the 17th century. It features stone rubble walls, with the first floor of the east front plastered. The roof is made of corrugated iron, with a gable end on the west and hipped gable ends on the north and south sides. There is a stone chimney stack on the west and additional brick stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high.

The south front is asymmetrical, with two 3-light casement windows with glazing bars and six panes per light on the ground floor, each with slate hoods. The first floor has two timber sash windows, each with three panes. There is a blocked opening on the right and signs of an earlier gabled roof line from an adjoining building. The south front may have originally extended to the west and east, as indicated by the existing lower walls.

On the west gable end, there is a large projecting stone chimney stack with offsets, and a lateral brick stack on the front to the left of the right hipped gable end. There is also a brick stack on the south slope of the roof. The east front was remodelled in the late 19th century to create a symmetrical facade, as evidenced by an early 19th-century watercolour. This front has three windows, with two wide sash windows, each with four panes per light, on the ground and first floors, flanking a 20th-century partly glazed door. Above the door is a six-pane sash window.

The interior has been partly remodelled and features 18th-century joinery and moulded cornices on the ground floor. The first floor has not been inspected.
