Description

This building is a pair of cottages, now converted into one, located 80 metres to the south-west of Bullapit Bridge. They date from the early 18th century and are constructed of stone rubble and cob, with the front elevation rendered. The roof is made of rag slate and features gable ends. On the left side, there is a projecting stone rubble end stack with a brick shaft, and there is also a brick shaft for the axial stack near the centre.

The original plan consisted of two one-room cottages. The left-hand cottage is heated by an end stack and has an entrance on the right side, while the right-hand cottage is heated by an axial stack and has its entrance on the right side as well. It is possible that the right-hand cottage is a later 18th-century addition, as there is a noticeable straight joint between the two dwellings.

The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical three-window front. The left-hand cottage features a plank door with a slate hood above, located to the right of centre, along with a small one-light casement to the right and a 19th-century two-light casement to the left. On the first floor, there are two 19th-century two-light casements. The right-hand cottage has a 19th-century two-light casement on both the ground and first floors, along with a 19th-century plank door in the right gable end. The interior is not accessible.
