Description

Nos. 1 to 6, Clarence Place form a row of larger houses dating to the 19th century, built in the Regency style. The houses are constructed of stucco and feature a single string course, recessed architraves, scribed pilasters, parapets, and cornices on Nos. 1, 4, 5, and 6. They have two hipped dormers each and comprise two storeys with semi-basements and attics. Each house originally had three windows, although No. 6 features two splayed windows on the ground floor. Each has an open entrance porch supported by Tuscan columns and topped with an entablature. A wide strip of communal grass is situated in front of the houses. Nos. 1 to 6, together with Clarence Cottage and Clarence Terrace, form a notable group.
