Description
The stables and coach house immediately southwest of Otterham House date from the early to mid 19th century and have undergone 20th-century alterations. They are constructed from local stone rubble with granite lintels and feature a rag slate hipped roof with red clay ridge tiles, though there are no hip tiles. The overall layout is L-shaped.
The stables are rectangular in plan, with an entrance on the left side of the front and external stairs at the rear leading to a loft above. Attached to the right of the front is a single-storey coach house, which has its entrance on the left side, now fitted with 20th-century garage doors and a window. The two-storey stable has a plank door with a granite lintel on the left side of the front. At the back, external stone stairs with slate treads lead to a loft door that has been converted into a window. The left side of the stables features one window on each floor, both fitted with 20th-century casements. The coach house has 20th-century garage doors on the left side and a 20th-century window in the original wide doorway. This building served as the stables and coach house for the former rectory, now known as Otterham House.
