Description

The Mill and adjoining farm buildings date from the early to mid 19th century. They are constructed from serpentine and elvan rubble, featuring dressed granite for the quoins, jambstones, sills, voussoirs, and lintels. The roofs are mostly made of scantle slate with hips and gable ends. The buildings have an L-shaped plan, with a wheel pit located within a lean-to that projects outside at the west. There is a single-storey cart shed attached at the southern end of the west range. The structure has two storeys and features shallow arches over the three principal wider door openings. The east end of the north range has a lower eaves level, with brick pigeon holes situated under the eaves. There are mostly door openings, including three first-floor loading doors, and a total of four windows, one of which still retains its wooden shutter. The interiors are structurally complete, with original floors and roofs. At the time of the survey in 1985, the buildings were partly derelict but remained grouped near Roskruge Barton Farmhouse and had seen little alteration since their construction.
