Description
Spring Cottage is a cottage dating from around the mid-18th century. It has a rubble base with upper walls made of cob, which are pinkwashed. The roof is thatched with combed wheatreed and features gable ends. There is a rendered brick stack on the right-hand gable end. The cottage has a single depth and a two-cell plan, with two storeys. The front is symmetrical with two windows. A central 20th-century glazed door is topped by a thatched canopy supported by timber posts. This door is flanked by two 2-light horizontal sliding sash windows with pointed leaded lights. There are similar windows directly above on the upper floor. To the left, there is a single-storey stuccoed extension with a glazed door on the gabled end. The roof space is not accessible.
