Description
No. 1 Mount Folly Square is a mid-19th century town house located in Bodmin. The building features incised stucco, likely over studwork, with a plinth and a mid-floor band. It has a bitumen-grouted rag slate roof that is hipped on the right side, with projecting eaves and a brick stack on the right. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with a nearly symmetrical three-window front. The first floor has late 19th century twelve-pane hornless sash windows, while the ground floor has four-pane horned sash windows. The central doorway is pilastered and features a moulded hood cornice, an overlight, and a four-panel door. There is also a doorway on the right, which has pilasters, consoles, and a moulded hood that is associated with No. 2 Fore Street. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
