Description
Trevose Lighthouse is a lighthouse built in 1847 by Jacob and Thomas Oliver and Sons of Falmouth. It features white painted masonry and has a circular tower that stands approximately 87 feet tall. The tower is topped with a parapet walkway and a lantern, which is surmounted by a weather-vane. At the base, there is a single-storey entrance block with a pediment, which has a central entrance. This entrance block is flanked by two low single-storey dwelling blocks arranged in a V-shaped plan, although these blocks contain 20th-century windows.
Due to thick fog, a full interior inspection could not be conducted at the time of the survey. It is noted that a fog signal was not installed until 1882, during its first major overhaul and updating.
