Description

Merrymeet House is a house dating from the 1840s. It is constructed of rubble stone, with slate hung onto the south side. The roof is slate, with gable ends, and includes rendered stacks in the gable ends and centrally. The north front is asymmetrical with four windows. The ground floor has a 12-pane sash window and a door near the centre, with a 20th-century glazed porch with a slate roof. Above, there are two 12-pane sashes and a round-headed stair window with radiating glazing bars between them. A 2-light 20th-century window is located in a blocked opening to the right. The rear, north side is slate hung and features an asymmetrical three-window elevation. This includes a 3-light casement with glazing bars on the right, and an open slated porch. A late 19th-century canted bay window with replacement sashes is present, along with a 16-pane sash window to the right. Above are a 19th-century 3-light casement with glazing bars to the right, and two 16-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
