Description

Two headstones, located about 16 metres southeast of the Church of St Morwenna, date from the early 19th century and are made of slate. One headstone is rectangular and commemorates Richard Cann of Lower Cory, who died in 1842. It features an inscription of the Reverend R S Hawker's poem "The Dirge." The second headstone, situated immediately to the south, commemorates Jane Cann, who died in 1848, and also includes a verse by Hawker. This information is referenced in C E Byles' "Life and Letters of R S Hawker" published in 1905.
