Description
This is a group of three monuments dedicated to the Lark and Ball families, located in the churchyard about 10 metres southwest of the tower of the Church of St Stephen. The monuments date from the early 19th century and are made of granite with slate inscription tablets.
One of the monuments is a rectangular chest tomb for Grace Lark, dated 1816. It stands on a plinth and features a lid with a swept-shaped top and a roll finial. There are two rebated rectangular inscription tablets on the east side, which have incised borders, carved wings, and well-executed lettering and verses.
The other two monuments are pedestal tombs. One is dedicated to Thomasin Ball, dated 1813, and has a square plan on a plinth, with a swept top that has a plain edge and finial. It also has a rebated slate inscription tablet on the east side.
