Description

The tomb vault for the Trist family is located 19 meters south of the east end of the Church of St Symphorian. The earliest date associated with the vault is 1802, although the facade is likely from a later period. It is constructed of white granite ashlar with slatestone rubble behind, built into a slope. The design features a very shallow distyle portico that is approximately Doric in style, complete with a pediment. The facade includes a curving inscription that reads "RESURGEMUS," which frames a closed architrave leading to the vault. At the apex of the structure, there is a cross with a stepped base, and the vault stands on a single step stylobate.
