Description
Church View and Treveans are two cottages dating from around the late 18th century. They are constructed of painted and rendered stone rubble and cob, with a rag slate roof and stone rubble and brick end stacks to the front range, and a brick axial stack within a canted range on the left. The original plan likely comprised two one-room cottages, each heated by an end stack – Church View on the left and Treveans on the right. Church View may have been extended in the early 19th century with a further two-room range, heated by a central axial stack. Alternatively, the cottages could have been two of a terrace of four, with the two on the right incorporated into Church View at a later date, possibly in the 20th century. The left-hand range was remodelled in the late 20th century. The front elevation is regular with four windows, featuring 19th-century sash windows with margin glazing bars, two 20th-century doors, and four-pane sashes. The upper floor mirrors the arrangement below, with 19th-century sashes and two four-pane sashes, and a 20th-century window on the left-hand range. The interiors were not inspected. The cottages are situated near the Church of St Teath.
