Description

This is a house dating from the 1840s, located on Church Street in Padstow. It is constructed from stuccoed and rendered stone rubble, with raised plaster quoins. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and features hipped ends and deep, overhanging eaves.

The house has a double-depth plan, with two reception rooms facing the south garden. The main entrance is on the right-hand side, directly to the rear of the right-hand reception room. A staircase is positioned towards the rear centre of the house, flanked by two service rooms. There is also an entrance on the rear elevation, close to the staircase, and evidence suggests a former entrance was blocked in the centre of the front elevation.

The south-facing garden front is symmetrical, with three windows. The ground floor has two glazed double doors, and the first floor has three original 12-pane hornless sash windows. There are two blind windows and a central roundel above the entrance on the right-hand side. The rear elevation also has three windows, each with 12-pane sashes.

Inside, a central partition between the two main reception rooms on the south side has been removed. The original staircase features stick balusters and a mahogany rail.
