Description

The headstone of Mary Rawe, dating from 1794, is located leaning against the wall to the west of the tower of the Church of St Petroc in Padstow. It commemorates Mary Rawe, the wife of merchant William Rawe and the daughter of Robert and Joan Cleave of St Kew, who passed away in the same year. The headstone is made of slate and features a segmental arched head with curved shoulders. It is inscribed in upper and lower case lettering with serifs, along with a verse and an angel's head at the top.
