Description
The churchyard walls and ledger stone of Thomas Pearse are located on the south side of Church Street in Padstow. These structures likely date from the 18th century. The walls are made of slate stone rubble and enclose the churchyard of the Church of Petroc. The slate is arranged in horizontal courses, featuring a horizontal string course and vertically laid slate capping above. On the south wall, there is a ledger stone commemorating Thomas Pearse, a mariner who died in 1709. The stone includes a marginal inscription and a verse in the central panel.
