Description
This building is a barn located 20 metres north of Trerithick, likely constructed in the early to mid 19th century. It features a row of shippons and stables with a loft above and probably a cartshed attached to the front right, which is currently used as a garage. The structure is made of stone rubble with granite quoins and has later brick segmental arches for the ground floor openings. The roof is covered with rag slate and has gable ends.
The barn has an overall rectangular plan, with the shippons and stables on the ground floor and an external stair leading to the loft on the first floor. The exterior is two storeys high, with an asymmetrical front elevation that includes segmental brick arches for the door and window openings on the ground floor. There is a stone rubble external stair positioned to the right of centre. The first floor has slatted window openings and two loft door openings. Attached to the front right is a single-storey range with 20th-century garage doors. The left-hand gable end features five tiered rows of pigeon holes. The interior has not been inspected.
