Description
A row of three attached houses dating to around 1810, with alterations made in the 20th century. The houses are constructed of rubble, with the front and left side clad in slate. Number 2 and 3 have brick ridge stacks serving the front and rear rooms, and Summerhill (the house on the left) has an asbestos slate roof, while the rest of the terrace has a slate roof, hipped at the right end. It is believed the terrace may originally have been planned to extend further to the left. Each house features a front and rear room, with an entrance passage on the side.
The houses are three storeys and one bay wide. Summerhill has a 20th-century porch on the left and replacement windows at ground, first, and second floor levels. Number 2 has a door on the right, and retains original 16-pane sashes at each floor. Number 3 has a 20th-century porch with a glazed door and PVC sash windows at each floor.
The interior of Number 2 includes a ground floor front room with a 6-panelled door, a plain chimney piece, and cupboards with shaped tops and panelled lower doors. The passage on the right side features a round arch with pilasters and a dog-leg staircase to the rear, with stick balustrade. The first floor has 4-panelled doors, and the front room includes a moulded chimney piece and a hob grate. The second floor also has 4-panelled doors. The interiors of Summerhill and Number 3 were not inspected.
