Description

CALSTOCK SX 4268-4368 9/33 Wall attached to north east of Cotehele House GV II Range of garden walls. Probably circa 1860. Slatestone rubble with granite dressings. Plan: The wall is attached to north east of Cotehele House, and encloses the north side of the gardens on the east side of Cotehele House, with a gateway at the western end. Rubble wall with rubble coping, about 2½ metres high about 25 metres long. The wall is stepped down to east, with the terracing of the garden. 4-centred arched granite doorway, possibly re-used, chamfered, with step stops, and with a roughly hewn chamfered granite Latin cross set on top.
