Description

The buildings at 1 and 3 Back Road West in St Ives are 18th and 19th century cottages arranged around a central courtyard. They are constructed of rubble with slate hanging on the upper floors. The windows are sash windows without glazing bars, set within moulded surrounds. There is a glazed door. The roofs are covered in slates. The exterior walls are not slate-hung, and numbers 6 and "Beach Cottage" face the beach, featuring modern two-story bay windows and a balcony. These cottages have group value due to their collective appearance and arrangement.
