Description

Warehouse, later used as offices and workshops, built in the late 18th or early 19th century, with 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of Devon limestone rubble, with some slatestone rubble, and has asbestos slate roofs with hipped and gable ends. It comprises three ranges forming a U-shaped plan: one range along the waterside, one at a right angle to it, and three parallel ranges along the roadside that enclose the U-shape.

The seaward side features a two-storey block to the left with a hipped roof and five windows (all 20th-century sashes). The ground floor has five segmental-headed windows, alternating with two blind windows, all replacements from the 20th century. An end block to the right has a hipped roof and five raking buttresses, with a 20th-century window at ground and first floor on its left side, where the block projects forward. The right side displays three gable ends of the parallel ranges; the gable end to the right has 20th-century roller doors, while the central bay has two raking buttresses, a ground-floor door, and a 20th-century window at first floor. Above is a blocked loading door. The gable end to the left has a raking buttress. The end range to the left has twelve raking buttresses with 20th-century windows set between them on both ground and first floors. The rear wall along the road has rubble projections at its base. The left side shows the ends of the parallel ranges to the left, the central range, and the range projecting to the right. The central gable end is taller. The gable end to the left has a remaining brick segmental head from a former door, with a 20th-century window at ground and first floors. The central bay has three remaining brick segmental heads from former doors, the central one being a 20th-century replacement; a loading door is above it, with an inserted 20th-century window. The end bay to the right has 20th-century roller doors across the entire front and a 20th-century window on the right side at ground floor. The central range has two 20th-century windows at first floor and two at the second floor. It has double doors on the left and a door on the right. A 20th-century porch is set into the angle of the projecting range, which has five windows on the first floor and four at ground floor, all 20th-century, with segmental heads. The end wall of this range is slightly battered, with a stepped-out basement level, displaying a window with a segmental head at ground floor and two windows at first floor. The interior was not inspected.
