Description

This is a headstone located approximately 19 metres south of the west end of the Church of Saint Sithney. It dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and commemorates Elizabeth, the wife of Sampson Hill, who died in 1793 at the age of 44, as well as their sons: Hugh, who died on 29th January 1821 at the age of 2 years, and Sampson, who died on 17th July at the age of 39 years. The headstone is made of incised slate and features a monolithic slab with a canted head, inscribed on the west front.
