Description

Mingoose Villa is a small house dating to approximately 1800. It is constructed of local killed stone rubble with brick arches over the windows. The roof is hipped, covered in slate, with brick chimneys set into the side walls. The house follows a double-depth plan, with two front rooms flanking a central entrance hall, which leads to a stair hall situated between a former dairy (on the left) and the kitchen (on the right). A small, 20th-century addition provides covered access between the kitchen door and the rear dairy door.

The exterior presents a symmetrical three-window facade with a central doorway. The original window and door openings are topped with shallow brick arches. The front door is a 19th-century panelled door featuring two tall, rounded upper panels. The windows are circa late 19th or 20th century, and are 2-pane sashes with horns.

Inside, much of the original character remains, including a dog-leg staircase, moulded ceiling beams, panelled doors, and a wooden mantelpiece surrounding the fireplace in the kitchen.
