5/66 - Farm buildings at approx 30-40m west of Tregithew Farmhouse

GV II

Barn, piggery and shelter shed. Circa early-mid C19. Serpentine rubble, some cob, dressed granite monolith jambstones and lintels. Scantle slate roof over piggery, otherwise corrugated asbestos sheeting, all with gable ends. L-shaped group with single storey shelter shed 2-storey barn and single-storey piggery comprising the west range and the single-storey shelter shed the north range. West range east front has open fronted shelter shed, far left, symmetrical barn front, towards left, and 5 identical piggeries, right. The barn has wide central doorway and doorway to far left and right and 2 loading doorways to first floor, grouped closer. Each pig house has doorway left and square feeding hatch low down on left. Shelter shed south front has 5 doorways, the central one, narrow, those at the left and right, wide, and those to far left and right narrow. The 2 right-hand doorways partly blocked in C20. All the buildings have old ledged doors, 2 of those to barn with ventilation slits. Part of a group of planned farm buildings associated with Tregithew Farmhouse, an unusually good C17 and C18 house.
