Description

The farm buildings located approximately 30-40 meters west of Tregithew Farmhouse consist of a barn, piggery, and shelter shed, dating from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed of serpentine rubble, some cob, and dressed granite monolith jambstones and lintels. The piggery has a scantle slate roof, while the other structures are covered with corrugated asbestos sheeting, all featuring gable ends.

This L-shaped group includes a single-storey shelter shed, a two-storey barn, and a single-storey piggery, with the west range housing the barn and piggery, and the north range containing the shelter shed. The east front of the west range features an open-fronted shelter shed on the far left, a symmetrical barn front towards the left, and five identical piggeries on the right. The barn has a wide central doorway, additional doorways on the far left and right, and two loading doorways for the first floor grouped closer together. Each pig house has a doorway on the left and a square feeding hatch positioned low on the left side.

The south front of the shelter shed has five doorways: a narrow central doorway, wide doorways on the left and right, and narrow doorways at the far left and right. The two right-hand doorways have been partly blocked in the 20th century. All buildings feature old ledged doors, with two of the barn doors including ventilation slits. These structures are part of a planned group of farm buildings associated with Tregithew Farmhouse, which is noted for being an unusually good 17th and 18th-century house.
