Description
This building consists of a barn, cart shed, and stables located north-west of Lamellion Farmhouse. It was built in the early 19th century and extended later in the 19th century. The walls are made of slatestone rubble, and the barn has a rag slate roof, which is partly fallen, while the other structures have a dry Delabole slate roof. The rectangular barn has been extended with stables on its right side, and in front of this, there is a stable and cartshed extension, along with a parallel cart or wagon shed extension at the rear and stables positioned at right angles to the rear left.
The two-storey barn features one visible 2-light shuttered window on the right side. There is a wooden-lintelled loading doorway on the first floor, which is accessed by a straight flight of stone steps located towards the right. Flanking this doorway are two additional doorways, which, like the window, have flat arches. The stable-type doors are boarded. The left-hand return of the building has original 8-pane top lights above later large panes in the windows, along with original planked doors. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be fairly complete. These farm buildings significantly contribute to the setting of Lamellion Farmhouse.
