Description
Tamarind Thatch is a house, likely originally two cottages, dating from the 18th century. It features painted, rendered walls primarily made of cob and a water reed thatched roof with brick chimneys at the gable ends. The building has a two-room plan and a wide rear stair turret. It stands two storeys high and has three windows on the east, road-facing front. The door is off-center to the right, with a 20th-century glazed porch that has a flat roof. A window slightly to the left may have been a former door position. The windows are 12-pane, 2-light casements, with the original 18th-century ones located on the first floor. The rear stair turret is wider than the current stair and likely accommodated two stairs originally. Inside, there is an open hearth with a bread oven in one room and open beamed ceilings throughout.
