Description
The Bakers Arms Public House is an 18th-century building that was refronted around 1800. It features stucco over what is likely rubble, with channelled rustications on the ground floor. The façade is accentuated by giant end pilasters and moulded and carved hoods on consoles at the first floor, along with moulded architraves and carved keystones at the second floor. The building has a steep dry slate roof with three gabled roof dormers and mid to late 19th-century crested clay ridge tiles, as well as a moulded and dentilled eaves cornice. It has a deep tapered plan and stands three storeys tall with a four-window range. The late 19th-century windows are four-pane horned sashes set under flat basket arches. The ground floor features a central doorway with 20th-century glazed doors, a shop front to the left with small panes, and another shop front with plate glass on the right. The interior of the ground floor has been altered in the 20th century, and the rest of the building was not inspected.
