Description
Gildor is a small house dating from the early 19th century. It features a stuccoed front, with the rest of the building made from painted rubble. The roof is covered with grouted scantle slate and has brick chimneys at the gable ends. The house has cast iron ogee gutters. The layout includes a double depth plan with an integral single-storey rear outshut. At the front, there are two approximately equal rooms flanking a cross passage that leads to a staircase situated between two rear service rooms. The exterior is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical front with two windows, accented by stucco quoin strips. The doorway is approximately central and features the original six-panel door, which has a moulded lock rail and flush-beaded bottom panels. The original twelve-pane hornless sash windows complete the façade. The interior has not been inspected.
