Description

The gate piers at the south west entrance to Penmellyn were built around 1855 by William White. They are made of squared stone rubble and have a square plan. Each pier stands about 2 metres high and features steep pyramidal caps topped with finials. The gate posts are positioned on the inner side of the piers, with a short section of chamfered wall on each outer side.
