Godolphin Bridge Farmhouse And Adjoining Outbuildings

Godolphin Bridge Farmhouse and the adjoining outbuildings date from the early 19th century and may have originally served as a count house. The farmhouse is constructed from killas rubble with dressed granite used for the quoins, jambstones, sills, and lintels, and it is painted on the sides and rear. The house features a three-quarter hipped roof made of asbestos slate, with rendered brick chimneys on the side walls. The roof slopes down over the two adjoining outbuildings, which have gable ends and are covered with corrugated asbestos sheeting and asbestos slate.

The layout of the farmhouse is double-depth, with two equal front rooms on either side of a cross passage that leads to a stair hall, situated between shallower rear service rooms. The cross passage is cranked around the stair leading to the back door. There are lower outbuildings, now partly converted, attached to the left side of the rear, and a further lower outbuilding at the far left. The front wall of a former lean-to remains on the right side of the house.

The farmhouse has a symmetrical three-window front with a central doorway, featuring 20th-century windows and door. The rear retains its original hornless sash windows, including a tall mid-floor round-headed stair sash with a fanlight head. The interior has been superficially altered in the 20th century, but the overall structure remains largely intact.
