Description
The Foster Monument is an obelisk located in the churchyard about 14 metres east of the south aisle of the Church of St Bartholomew in Lostwithiel. It dates from the mid-19th century and is made of granite, featuring a slate inscription plate. The monument has a square plan plinth with a moulded base and moulded top, topped by a square plan obelisk that stands approximately 2 metres high. Originally, there were railings enclosing the plinth. The monument commemorates Thomas Foster and was erected in 1858.
