Description

Gregorys and Looe News are two townhouses with shops, built in the mid-19th century. The building features a rendered exterior, likely on masonry for Looe News, and rendered studwork for Gregorys. It has a dry slate hipped roof adorned with crested red ridge tiles and modillions along the eaves fascia. There are central and left-side brick stacks on the roof. The structure has a double-depth plan, stands three storeys tall, and has a four-window range. The windows are 20th-century four-pane horned sashes, with those at Gregorys set within moulded architraves. The ground floor includes a 20th-century shop front on the left and a late 19th-century double shop front on the right. This shop front features two lights with sidelights on either side of a central doorway, which has an original glazed and panelled door. The soffit is panelled, and the round fronted section has mullions with moulded bases and caps, along with a moulded entablature and fascia. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
