Description

Morley’s Cottage is a house dating from around the early 19th century. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble, with some slate hanging above the ground floor on the right-hand side. The roof is slate, with a hipped end on the right, and a brick axial chimney stack. The house likely originally had a 2-room double-depth plan, though this may have been altered due to extensions of neighbouring properties. The front elevation facing Church Hill has a partly-glazed door. On the right-hand side, facing the harbour, is a probably 19th-century 12-pane sash window with moulded and exposed sash boxes. The interior remains uninspected. The slate-hung side elevation facing the harbour forms a picturesque range alongside number 6 Church Street.
