Description
This is a piggery with an integral swill kitchen, dating from the mid to late 19th century, located approximately 30 metres northeast of Tregerthen Farmhouse in Zennor. The structure is built from granite rubble with granite dressings and features a grouted scantle slate roof, topped with a brick chimney on the right-hand gable end. The piggery has a rectangular plan that includes three pig sties on the left and the swill kitchen on the right. There are four doorways at the front and a window at the rear of the swill kitchen. It is likely that there is a feeding passage behind the pig sties, accessible through a doorway from the swill kitchen. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet situated within the ancient field system of this area of Cornwall.
