Description
The Vicarage, along with its adjoining outbuildings, front garden walls, and gate, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with extensions made in the 19th century. The building is constructed of roughly coursed granite rubble with granite dressings and features a half-hipped scantle slate roof with dressed granite stacks on the side walls. The plan consists of a shallow double-depth layout with two rooms at the front, the right-hand room being wider, and a cross passage leading to the stair between them. In the 19th century, a two-room garden front addition was added parallel to the rear middle and right. Additionally, an outbuilding was constructed at the right-hand end, along with a stable and trap house positioned at right angles to the front right.
The exterior is two storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical three-window south front with a doorway centrally located in relation to the windows. There is a hipped-roofed porch with a side entrance. The windows likely include original 16-pane hornless sashes, with the exception of a later sash on the ground floor left. There are also early 19th-century sashes at the rear and on the right-hand side. The interior has not been inspected. The garden walls are made of dressed granite or granite rubble with granite dressings and feature square-edged granite coping. The gate is marked by round-headed granite monolithic piers and 19th-century wrought-iron gates with hooped bracing.
