Description
The south entrance and gate-piers to Polapit Tamar, dating from around the mid-19th century, consist of gate-piers, gates, quadrant walls, and terminal piers. The structure is made of stone rubble and granite. The gate-piers are square in plan and tapering, featuring moulded caps. The 19th-century cast-iron gates are adorned with fleur-de-lys decorations. The flanking quadrant walls are constructed of stone rubble, with a moulded plinth and granite coping. The terminal piers, which are rusticated granite and tapering, have a rectangular plan and depressed pyramid caps.
