Nos 1,2 And 3, Trehelder

Nos. 1, 2 and 3 Trehelder are three attached houses built in 1903 as almshouses in memory of Emily Bridges Willyams. They have seen few later alterations and are constructed from stone rubble with granite dressings. The houses feature a tiled roof with gable ends adorned with bargeboards and axial stacks with brick shafts.

The overall plan is U-shaped, with one house in the central range and one in each front wing. The exterior is single storey and symmetrical, showcasing a central gabled porch flanked by bays on either side, with front wings projecting to the right and left. The porch includes a half-glazed door topped by a four-centred arched fanlight with a hood mould. The fanlights above all the doors contain stained glass featuring the initials EBW. There is a recessed datestone above the porch. To the right and left of the porch are three-light windows with casements and top lights. Each wing has a similar door and a two-light window on the inner side. The front gable end of each wing is highlighted by a canted bay with a two-light window at the front and single lights on the sides. The interior has not been inspected.
