Description

The Yelland monument, located about 14 metres south west of the tower of the Church of St Stephen, is a mid-19th century memorial made of granite. It is designed in the shape of a fluted shell, resting on a scrolled base atop a chamfered granite plinth. The inscription, which is in raised uppercase lettering, is not fully legible but commemorates Yelland, who was born in St Louis, U.S.A.
