Description

This is a town house with a shop, likely originating in the 18th century and remodelled after 1856. The front of the building is slatehung on a timber frame, with stucco details marking the quoins on the upper floors. It has a hipped roof covered in Delabole slate, with a decorative cornice and cast-iron gutter. The house has a deep layout including a rear wing and extends to three storeys with a three-window facade. The mid-19th century windows are hornless sashes with glazing bars, surrounded by stucco detailing. The second-floor windows have short segmental arches with eared architraves, pilasters with consoles, and segmental pediments flanked by triangular pediments, all supported by deep brackets. Moulded sills are present on both upper floors. The ground floor has a modern shop front with large plate-glass windows and a glazed doorway. The interior has not been inspected but is considered likely to be of interest.
