Description

This pair of cottages, built around the mid-19th century, is located directly to the west of the Church of St Petroc Minor. They are constructed from stone rubble with brick dressings and feature a rag slate roof with gable ends and clay crested ridge tiles. The cottages have a central brick axial stack with four diagonally set brick shafts.

The design consists of two symmetrical mirror-image cottages, each with a two-room double depth plan, where the principal room is at the front and the service room at the rear. The original entrances are through porches located at the far right and left, with the principal rooms in the center heated by the shared central stack.

The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical two-window front. The gabled entrance porches at either end have banded brick two-centred arches and cusped bargeboards, which are decorated with a central pendant and finial. There are two 19th-century four-pane sash windows near the center, featuring banded brick segmental arches, and two additional 19th-century four-pane sashes directly above in gabled half dormers, also with cusped bargeboards and decorative elements. The interior has not been inspected.
