Description

This milestone, located approximately 580 metres to the north-northwest of the bridge at Wenford Bridge, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of granite and has a rectangular section with a rounded top. The milestone is inscribed with "6 B Turnpike road act for roads leading to Bodmin passed in 1769 (9 Geo III c 69)," referencing the turnpike road system in England.
