Description
The Nationwide Building Society is a town house that has been converted into commercial premises, dating from the 18th century. The front is rendered on masonry and features a steep grouted rag slate roof with a central gabled roof dormer. This dormer contains a pair of late 19th-century horned sash windows. There is a stone end stack on the left side with a brick shaft. The building has a deep plan that includes a wing at right angles to the rear. It stands two storeys plus an attic and has a two-window front with 2-pane horned sashes. The ground floor features a plinth, a 19th-century doorway with pilasters, another door on the right, and a wide central window created by removing the pier between the original two windows. A moulded mid-floor frieze runs the full width of the front. The interior has not been inspected.
