Description

Highwood House is an early 19th-century town house, now used as a row of shops. The front is clad in slatehanging fixed to a timber studwork frame, with a dry Delabole slate roof that is hipped on the left side, and includes crested clay ridge tiles. The building has a deep plan and displays a symmetrical three-window facade on the first floor. Late 19th or 20th-century four-pane sash windows with horns are set within moulded wooden architraves; two windows are visible on the second floor. The ground floor was altered in the mid-20th century and now features a double shop front with plate glass and wide top lights. The interior was remodelled in the mid-20th century.
