Description
Rose Cottage is a house, probably from the 18th century, with 20th-century alterations. The exterior is colourwashed and rendered, featuring a front hung with large slates and a thatched roof that is gabled at both ends, along with a brick ridge chimney. The building has a single depth plan that is two rooms wide with a thatched heat projection. The front has three windows arranged asymmetrically, including a 20th-century off-centre thatched glazed porch. The windows are slightly bowed 20th-century casements with glazing bars, and the openings have been enlarged except for the first floor left and middle windows. Inside, the ground floor room on the left has ceiling beams of light scantling and a large fireplace with a roughly-chamfered fireplace beam and a cloam oven. The roof timbers are said to be concealed under insulating material.
