Description
The Pavilion to Wearde Farmhouse is a mid-18th century structure and is the last remnant of a grand house that was destroyed by fire around 1905. It was originally one of a pair of flanking pavilions. The south front features an angled bay and is rendered with a double parapet. There are three modern casement windows and blind panels in the parapet. To the right, rustic quoins from the old house are visible. Inside, the pavilion boasts excellent plasterwork on the ceiling, depicting cherubs, Neptune, and what is believed to be representations of the seasons. The interior also includes good period panelling, a display cabinet, and a cornice, which is thought to date from around 1766.
